The head of the Ministry of Defense was asked on TVN24 about the detention of soldiers who fired warning shots at the border. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that he knew nothing “about the arrest and the use of direct coercive measures in the form of handcuffs”.
Monika Olejnik asked Kosiniak-Kamysz in the program “Kropka nad i” whether President Andrzej Duda should be informed about the detention of the soldiers.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Military Police is not obliged to provide information about arrests in any of these cases
– said the head of the Ministry of National Defense, adding that “there is no such obligation or custom.”
When asked if he was aware of the arrest, he said he knew “an incident had occurred and the use of weapons would be analyzed.” However, he admitted that he knew nothing “about the arrest and the use of direct coercive measures in the form of handcuffs.”
