After the plane carrying the vice president and nine other people disappeared from radar, authorities tried repeatedly to contact the plane. But these efforts failed.
The military warned President Chakwera about the incident, who canceled his planned visit to the Bahamas. The President ordered all national and regional services to launch an urgent search and rescue operation.
