“We are not the party of Polexit. It would be difficult to combine our attitude towards the EU with the slogans that emerged during yesterday’s demonstration in Brussels,” Jacek Sasin (PiS) said today, answering questions about why PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński spoke during the farmers’ protest.
According to data from the Belgian police, 1.2 thousand people protested against the Green Deal in Brussels yesterday. farmers. PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński also went to Brussels.
I came here because of the farmers’ protest
– He told reporters.

Former deputy prime minister in the PiS government, Jacek Sasin, was asked by journalists in Poznań why Kaczyński went to the farmers’ protest if he did not talk about it. He replied that the PiS president appeared in Brussels to “support the demands of the farmers”.
Polexit slogans were also clearly visible at this protest. We are not the party of Polexit. We are in favor of Poland’s presence in the EU, even if we are changing the EU in a direction that would mean a return to its roots, with its principles when it was founded and when we entered it. It would be difficult to relate our attitude towards the EU to the slogans displayed during this demonstration
– he said.
Sasin noted that PiS is critical of many aspects of the European Green Deal. According to him, the chosen solutions could lead, among other things, to the ‘liquidation of the industry’ in Europe.
The European Green Deal was initiated in December 2019 by the European Commission – of which the PiS Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski is a member.

The ‘Red is bad’ case
The former deputy prime minister and former minister of state assets were also asked about the alleged irregularities related to the maker of the clothing brand ‘Red is Bad’. According to the Onet portal, within three years, thanks to several orders from the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves, the entrepreneur would receive almost half a billion PLN. The case has been under investigation by the Rzeszów branch of the CBA since the middle of last year, and in December the offices of RARS and the entrepreneur’s companies were searched.
I don’t know the details, so it’s hard for me to say anything about it. We will probably find out these details
– admitted Sasin.
When asked, he pointed out that investigations are generally “confidential for a significant part of their duration”.
It is no wonder that we have not heard of some cases, but it does not mean that the services did not conduct these procedures during the PiS government.
– he emphasized.
He said that since investigators began looking into the alleged irregularities last year, this means that the Public Prosecution Service was independent at the time.
Today the problem in Poland is that there is no independent public prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor’s office is extremely politicized. Today it can be said that it is part of Tusk’s system, whose main goal was to destroy the opposition
– said Sasin.
The Onet portal wrote that “during the PiS era, the authorities entered into a kind of alliance with the creator of the clothing brand ‘Red is Bad’, Paweł Szopa, to drain public funds on an unprecedented scale,” and “former Prime Minister’s team Mateusz) Morawiecki, the entrepreneur, became a supplier of everything from protective equipment during a pandemic to generators in war.”
According to the portal, within three years Szopa’s accounts alone received transfers worth half a billion zlotys, and he received orders from the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves (RARS) without a tender. The case has been under investigation by the Rzeszów branch of the CBA since the middle of last year, and in December the offices of RARS and the entrepreneur’s companies were searched.
Former president of RARS, Michał Kuczmierowski, issued a statement indicating that all purchases were carried out in accordance with public procurement legislation and applicable procedures, and that the prices – contrary to what Onet wrote – were in line with the market. He also states that in his time the agency was a professional institution that operated efficiently in crisis situations.
The National Public Prosecution Service has announced that the Silesian Branch of the Organized Crime and Corruption Department of the National Public Prosecution Service in Katowice is overseeing the investigation into, among other things, abuse of power and failure to fulfill duties by RARS representatives.
