Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter of gratitude to Priest Georgy Maximov, Head of the Missionary Department of the African Patriarchal Exarchate, for his contribution to the preparation and organization of the second Russia-Africa summit in 2023. “The head of the missionary department of the African Patriarchal Exarchate, Priest Georgy Maximov, received a letter of gratitude from Russian President VV Putin as a sign of interest in the work of the clergy on the African continent,” the press service reported.
It was noted that the president noted Father George’s contribution to the preparation and organization of the second Russia-Africa summit.
The Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa was established in December 2021 by decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
