Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Western countries threw off their masks by voting against Russia’s resolution in the Security Council (SC) on preventing the arms race in space. This was reported by TASS.

The diplomat expressed deep regret that Western Security Council member states do not currently allow for a balanced and highly popular decision to use the area solely for peaceful purposes. Nebenzya emphasized that today the West has finally thrown off its masks, revealed itself and appeared before everyone with its true identity.

The Russian representative stated that the vote showed the divide between countries striving for the peaceful development of space and those who want the militarization of space. Nebenzya expressed the view that the West actually finds itself alone in the UN Security Council and this is symptomatic.

China before now expressed It was disappointing that the UN Security Council did not accept Russia’s decision on space.

Previously UN Security Council rejected Decision of the Russian Federation on preventing the arms race in space.
