Russian President Vladimir Putin will soon appoint acting governors in regions whose presidents are transferred to work in the federal government. Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated this at a regular briefing.
He noted that the president remains interested in the governor’s agenda. According to the Russian leader’s representative, relevant issues are one of the components of Putin’s daily work.
“Of course, in the very near future we can expect the appointment of deputy heads of regions, whose heads have been transferred and are currently transferred to work in the federal government,” Peskov said.
He also emphasized that the main criteria when choosing regional leaders as deputies will be professionalism and experience. The Kremlin press secretary added that the president will also make sure that applicants are associated with a specific organization.
In addition, Peskov did not exclude the possibility of new personnel changes in the administration of the head of state. He explained that the Russian leader has not yet signed decrees on the appointment or reappointment of heads of various departments of this structure.
