More than 4,500 temps choose experts in EU fund management

The applicants of civil servants specializing in the European funds Consell wishes to create will not be missing. In the absence of recent checks, about 4,600 temporary workers signed up for entrance exams to join the temporary job exchange set up by Generalitat to strengthen different departments to attract money that Brussels has mobilized for the recovery of the pandemic. The number of registered candidates estimates that the Government of Valencia will have an election in this makeshift bag, with an expected duration of three years and extendable to a quarter, as Botànic departments requested a total of 267 extra workers in the first internal survey. . According to the data obtained by this newspaper, the areas with the highest staffing needs are Agriculture, Housing and the Region, where approximately 85% of the demand is concentrated.

The registration period has been open for ten working days since the decision was published in DOGV and ended on Wednesday, 29 June. Thousands of applicants now need to prepare the syllabus for the exam, which focuses on community regulations governing the different European distribution mechanisms and determining how many will access the exchange in what order. Testing is expected to take place after the summer and before Christmas, possibly between September and October, Public Function reports.

Consell sources highlight the novelty of this initiative, which aims to create an ad hoc public service body familiar with the management of European funds and contributes to maximizing Valencia’s opportunities to attract these EU resources. Not in vain, as a result of the covid crisis and the aid plans implemented by Brussels, the Valencian Community will have to manage almost the same community money between 2021 and 2022 as it did in the previous 14 years.

The public policies towards which the funds received last year are directed provide a clue as to the priorities Europe has set for dispersing the millions. Thus, almost 50% (521.34 million) of the 1,056.57 million allocated to the Valencian Community, according to figures handled by the Directorate-General for Coordination of Government Actions, which is responsible for managing the different lines of European funding, is the green transition. .

By areas of management, the six ministries managed more than 75% of the amount received by the autonomy. These are Housing (175.71 million), Economics (171.66), Finance (149.42), Regional Policy (119.64), Agriculture (105.62) and Innovation (101.66), all about these three big blocs that manage the distribution of the pie. : ecological and digital transformation and outreach.

This resulted in a workload in the consulates, which were most exposed to these three issues, precisely those who requested the most reinforcements in this internal study of Generalitat. Of the 267 requests mentioned above, Tarım requested 108 reinforcements; Housing, 78, and Regional Policy, 40, almost 85% among the three. Health tops the list with 21 and Economy with 20.
