“Today we would like to draw attention to the dramatic situation, because for several days the media has been informing us about numerous cases – thousands of planned job losses in Poland,” Daniel Milewski, a Law and Justice MP, said at a press conference.
During the campaign for the parliamentary elections, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his party often presented themselves as a future government that would care for hardworking and enterprising people. Meanwhile, unemployment fell significantly during the rule of Law and Justice in Poland.
Lately, the media has become increasingly alarmist about the coming waves of layoffs in workplaces and companies. Plans to radically reduce employment include: Polish Post. Companies such as Levis, Neonet, PepsiCo, MAN and Agora also reported their intention to reduce employment.
In 2015, when I became Deputy Prime Minister in charge of development, unemployment in Poland was almost 10% and 1.5 million people were unemployed. At the end of 2023, when he ended his mission as prime minister, the unemployment rate was 5%, with half as many people unemployed as eight years earlier. Such a huge drop in unemployment would not be possible without appropriate economic policies and the creation of conditions for the development of businesses in Poland
– wrote former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki yesterday on the X platform.
The redundancy map posted by Morawiecki was also published by MEP Dominik Tarczyński, among others.
“Another grim effect of Tusk’s rule”
PiS MPs Andrzej Cotowniak and Daniel Milewski referred at a press conference to the threat of a rise in unemployment in Poland and a return to the pre-2015 situation.
Today we would like to draw attention to the dramatic situation, because for several days the media has been informing us about numerous cases – thousands of planned job losses in Poland.
– said Milewski.
This applies to companies that have foreign capital, which means that the investment climate in Poland is deteriorating, but on the other hand it also concerns Poczta Polska, which may be prepared for privatization by the current government, which we have also warned about. times during the election campaign.
– he added.
“Nothing given will be taken away” – this was one of Donald Tusk’s flagship announcements before the parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, higher VAT on food and increases in electricity prices are becoming a daily reality for Poles, impacting Polish families.
– said Milewski.
A little over a year ago I warned that Tusk means poverty. And today we can already see that five months were enough to observe this next gloomy effect of Tusk’s rule
– he pointed.
What did the Prime Minister do?
MP Andrzej Cotowniak spoke in a similar tone.
Donald Tusk promised that nothing given will be taken away. He even claimed that more would be given. Of the hundred details he presented during the election campaign, a hundred shames remain for Donald Tusk and his supporters.
– he emphasized.
Unfortunately, what hits us is an increase in unemployment, a decrease in the profitability of Polish companies, a decrease in the television ratings of our country, a decrease in living standards, a decrease in the ability of Poles to meet their basic needs.
– he assessed.
All these things lead to the conclusion that Donald Tusk was not so much concerned with the economy, which is the most important thing, but with everything else, and not with the economy. He dealt with abortion, brought migrants to Poland and also fought with peasants for the Sejm.
– said the former Minister of Finance.
Andrzej Kolorowniak pointed out that Poland had a “critical few weeks” ahead of it.
If the government does not prepare individual shields for Polish industry, for the Polish economy, but above all for Polish citizens, and as a result the parliamentary base does not adopt individual shields, what we remember from the past will return.
– he emphasized.
Business failures will return and unfortunately much higher unemployment will return as well. The Minister of Finance, who travels to various capitals of the world, calls on people to invest in Poland. Those who analyze the situation are not just referring to rhetoric. Those who analyze the situation in hard terms refer to numbers. And unfortunately the numbers are against Donald Tusk. They clearly indicate that Donald Tusk is completely inadequate in the role he occupies today
– added.
“5.19 is the only specific thing left after Tusk”
The time of low unemployment ended on December 13. On December 13, the time for good investments ended. On December 13, the Prime Minister of Poland returned. All we can do is complain, draw attention to the problem and, I emphasize again, express our full willingness
– said Daniel Milewski.
After five months under Donald Tusk’s rule, what seemed forgotten has returned. Traditional “non-Dasism”. Nowadays it is impossible to create shields to protect residents, as well as Polish companies. It is impossible to create the conditions in which electricity, gas and labor costs in Poland actually become cheaper
– Kolorowniak emphasized.
We had to reduce the individual components of labor costs. To this day, no major changes are visible. All this indicates that Donald Tusk, as in his first government, is leaving Polish companies and Polish citizens in a situation that none of the citizens would want to be in, because every citizen wants to be sure that the state has his back.
– added the former minister.
Someone once wisely said: first the economy. Nowadays we can hear from press reports that cities like Płock, Wrocław, Warsaw, Kraków, but also many smaller cities such as Słupsk, Kwidzyń, Goleniów, Sosnowiec and Biała Podlaska are losing hundreds or even thousands of jobs.
– said Andrzej Kolorowniak.
Donald Tusk has to make very important, pro-economic and pro-social decisions in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, little is done in this regard in Parliament today, and what is done tends to be an imitation of work. Today Donald Tusk did not accept the challenge and some people joke that Donald Tusk’s middle name is 5.19, this is the only specific thing that will be left after Donald Tusk, although unfortunately it will not be ours because the price of fuel is much higher then 5.19
– added.
An infographic with a map of layoffs also appeared on the PiS profile on the X platform.
