The government is in session. As Prime Minister Donald Tusk said, the meeting, which started after 11 a.m., will discuss the issue of the conflict in the Middle East. Therefore, the meeting will be attended by: the Head of the National Security Agency, Jacek Siewiera, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Wiesław Kukuła, and the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, Major General. Maciej Klisz.
The situation in the Middle East also has direct consequences for our soldiers who are present as participants in the United Nations contingents in Lebanon and Iraq. This is reason enough to obtain detailed information about the situation of our soldiers
– said the Prime Minister.
He added that Poland’s security in the situation of the growing conflict in the Middle East will also be discussed.
I will ask the generals, Minister Siewiera and the Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Coordination of the Secret Services to assess this situation.

What issues will be discussed?
Then – the Prime Minister said – the Council of Ministers will discuss the tasks planned in the timetable.
The agenda includes: a draft amendment to the Law on the Principles of Development Policy, prepared by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. The idea is to improve the implementation of KPO, including: in the context of the use of the additional loan pool under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, which was included in the revision of the NRP.
The project will enable, among other things, the following: signing and settlement of investments in euros from the loan part of the KPO in the case of the construction of offshore wind farms. This is intended to increase interest in the funds intended for this purpose. In addition, a legal basis should be created for entities carrying out tasks related to the implementation of investments in the form of loans under the FPO to incur liabilities.
The project also presupposes a change in the work calendar in the field of development policy programming. The deadline for the government’s approval of the country’s development concept should be postponed by a year (until December 31, 2024) so that the country can “better reflect the ambitions of the current government.” The time to update the Voivodeship’s development strategy is extended until December 31, 2026.
Ministers will also consider draft changes to the labor law prepared by the Ministry of Family. The proposed amendment is intended to implement the amended Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of workers against the action of carcinogenic or mutagens. The directive expands the list of harmful substances to include substances that are toxic to reproduction.
The cabinet will also discuss current issues.
