Zakharova calls EU sanctions and theft of Russian assets “bitter irony” 01:30

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, called the European Union’s sanctions against Russia and the theft of Russian assets a “bitter irony”. This is what he interpreted in himself telegram channel Statement by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, regarding the presidential elections in Russia.

Borrell stated that the elections in Russia did not meet democratic standards and described them as “irony”.

According to Zakharova, it was better for the head of EU diplomacy to remain silent on the issue of irony, standards and democracy. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the “sanctions that have marked American charges” against Russia, as well as the destruction of its own economy and the theft of Russian state assets, a real and very bitter irony. Zakharova emphasized that the European Commission’s design is “an ironic standard of undemocratic.”
