“I have instructed the Presidential Department of the National Broadcasting Council to initiate ex officio proceedings regarding the spread of disinformation about the activities of a constitutional state body,” Maciej Świrski, Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, wrote on the X platform, referring to the submission of Radio Zet journalist Mariusz Gierszewski, who suggested that Michał Adamczyk and Tomasz Owsiński were trying to open a bank account for Telewizja Polska SA, to which the National Broadcasting Council reportedly planned to transfer PLN 100 million. According to Świrski, this is “another case of spreading untruth” by a journalist from Radio Zet.
There is a report about the possibility of committing a crime when a former TVP employee, Michał Adamczyk, tried to open a bank account for Telewizja Polska. TVP’s administrator claims that the National Broadcasting Council planned to transfer more than PLN 100 million of the license fee there.
– wrote Radio Zet journalist Mariusz Gierszewski on the X platform.
We are talking about the suspicion of committing a crime involving an attempt to open a bank account in one of the banks, on behalf of a company called Telewizja Polska SA, by Michał Adamczyk and Tomasz Owsiński. Adamczyk posed as chairman of TVP’s board of directors and Owsiński as vice-chairman
– he added in the next message.
Świrski: Another case of spreading untruth
Michał Adamczyk – the legal president of TVP, but described by a journalist from Radio Zet as a “former employee” of public television and a person “posing as the president” of TVP, had already commented on Gierszewski’s attack .
Maciej Świrski also spoke about this issue. The chairman of the National Broadcasting Council announced that certain actions would be taken against Gierszewski.
Attention! I would like to inform you: it is not true that the National Broadcasting Council planned to transfer PLN 100 million to any account. KRRIT, in accordance with resolution No. 40/2024, which prevents the expenditure of subscription fees for purposes other than legal purposes, has transferred the subscription fee to a judicial deposit
– Świrski noted.
Mr Gierszewski has already spoken falsely on RadioZet about the activities of the state authorities, for which a financial fine has been imposed on the broadcaster. We are currently dealing with another case of spreading falsehood. Therefore, I have instructed the Presidential Department of the National Broadcasting Council to initiate ex officio proceedings regarding the dissemination of disinformation regarding the activities of a constitutional organ of state.
– he concluded.
