Donald Tusk is preparing changes in the government. According to media reports, these will be implemented before the European Parliament elections. As reported by “Rzeczpospolita”, several ministers want to become MEPs, and some will be dismissed because their actions are not in line with Tusk’s wishes. Which names appear on the journalistic exchange?
After 100 days of Donald Tusk’s rule, almost none of the 100 things he promised during the election campaign have been implemented. Will this be one of the main reasons for rebuilding the government? However, it seems the Prime Minister has other priorities.

Tusk will punish
According to media reports, Tusk is the most dissatisfied with the work of the Third Way ministers. It concerns the Minister of Agriculture, Czesław Siekierski of PSL, who is reportedly “not a match for” protesting farmers. The head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, who bungled the ‘wind turbines’ case, is also mentioned.
We will defend Siekierski, but with Hennig-Kloska it could be different. Let Hołownia fight for it, we won’t
– one of the ministers in the government of Donald Tusk from PSL tells “Rzeczpospolita”.
Tusk will reward
According to media information, several ministers are going to Brussels to take up the mandate of a MEP. The first person mentioned is Borys Budka, the current head of the Ministry of State Assets. Budka announced from the start that leading the ministry was only a temporary job for him, and that the main target was the European Parliament. According to information from “Rzeczpospolita”, Krzysztof Hetman, Minister of Development and Technology (of PSL), will also want to run for the European Parliament.
Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, the Minister of Culture who launched an attack on the public media, also often spoke of dreams for Brussels. But won’t Tusk decide differently, since Sienkiewicz still has a lot to do to prevent the legally questionable arrangement from falling apart? The Marshal of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, was identified as his possible successor.
The question also remains open about the political ambitions of Minister Adam Bodnar, who was also only referred to as a ‘police officer’ who would hide behind the immunity of a MEP in the future.
None of my ministers have asked me for a seat on the plane to Brussels, and if anyone wants to run for the European Parliament from the government, he or she must first win the elections.
– said Tusk, adding:
We will see which of the ministers feel good enough to think that they will get such an opportunity at the European elections.
For the time being, instead of a hundred details from the Tusk government, the Poles have received an increase in VAT on food and an increase in energy prices scheduled for July. The problems surrounding farmers and trade with Ukraine also remain unresolved. However, we do have the government’s agreement on the migration pact and several issues of the Green Deal.
