“The depoliticization of the public prosecutor’s office means that we rule, and not Law and Justice,” Civic Platform MP Artur Łącki said on Telewizja Republika. Among the topics discussed on air were: about the actions of Attorney General Adam Bodnar, about 100 days of Donald Tusk’s government. The PO politician also admitted that the coalition had not kept all its promises.
Friday marked 100 days that the December 13 Coalition was in power. On Telewizja Republika, guests of the program “Agora Klarenbacha” discussed, among other things: About “100 details” promised to KO and coalition partners.
Unfulfilled promises
MP Łącki assured that although not all demands had been met, he said the “depoliticization of the public prosecutor’s office” had been successful.
Naturally, we regret this and apologize to our constituents for the fact that we have not managed to implement all one hundred details in one hundred days, but I guarantee that we will certainly strive to implement them sooner or later ; and I hope we will implement them all sooner
– said the PO politician.
Even if we have not managed – and I admit – to complete all 100 specific tasks in 100 days, but we will do them, (…) we have a great social trust
– added.
“Depoliticization of the public prosecutor’s office
What pleases them (Poland) most is that the public prosecutor’s office is no longer under political control, that the public prosecutor’s office becomes an independent body again.
– said Łącki.
Law and Justice MP Joanna Lichocka asked “from whom” the Public Prosecution Service is independent.
Confederation parliamentarian Dobromir Sośnierz said it was “a message from an alternative reality from a parallel world”.
Later in the ‘Klarenbach Agora’ programme, the PO MP went further and tried to argue that the Public Prosecution Service is ‘finally not under political pressure’.
This is a great success of the October 16 coalition
– he assessed.
The Confederation MP asked what this ‘apolitical’ attitude was.
This means that the Minister of Justice will soon no longer be the Attorney General
– Łącki replied and added: “we do not manually check the prosecutor’s office.”
One from Sośnierz asked “what the current ‘depoliticization’ of the prosecutor’s office is.”
Mr. MP, let me tell you a simple matter. The depoliticization of the public prosecutor’s office means that we govern, and not Law and Justice
– replied the PO MP.
Such a great concert that I didn’t expect
– summarized the politician of the Confederation.
Łącki also said that Adam Bodnar was previously a human rights commissioner, so he is completely apolitical. However, at the elections he was on the lists of the Civic Coalition.
The Minister, Professor Bodnar, is currently looking for a legal basis for many things, and it is frightening that what Professor Bodnar, as Commissioner for Human Rights, said then is currently in conflict.
– noted Kukiz’15 MP Jarosław Sachajko.
Comments
Journalists and politicians commented on the situation in the Republika Television studio.
A moment of sincerity by Artur Łącki. The ‘depoliticization’ of courts and prosecutors is solely about their own interests. About Nowak, Grodzki, Neumann, Gawłowski and others
– said Sebastian Kaleta, a member of parliament from Sovereign Poland.
