“The provisions of the Green Deal require correction,” says Ewa Kopacz of PO. The European Parliament Vice-President said that “Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski should be the one to go to Ursula von der Leyen and tell us honestly what the situation is.” These statements by one of Donald Tusk’s closest associates are surprising, because a few days ago the Prime Minister called on Wojciechowski not to interfere with his contacts with Brussels.
For weeks, farmers in many European Union countries have been protesting against, among other things, the provisions of the European Green Deal, as well as the import of agricultural products from Ukraine. Polish farmers have also been protesting for several months. Discussions with Prime Minister Donald Tusk yielded no results.

According to Kopacz Green Deal will survive
When asked by PAP whether the scale of the protests would lead to the failure of the Green Deal, Ewa Kopacz, Vice President of the European Parliament, denied this.
But in fact (this plan) needs correction when it comes to the provisions of the Green Deal
– said the Civic Platform politician.
When asked how the European protests have influenced EP politicians’ views on the Green Deal, Kopacz said they have “reached the decision makers” and that the European Commission will “relax” the relevant provisions.
Dud Kopacz
Kopacz noted that the initiative to correct the provisions of the Green Deal lies with the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski.
This is how things work: the EC comes up with a proposal and the European Parliament approves it, so today Commissioner Wojciechowski should be the one to go to Ursula von der Leyen, sit down with her and tell her – honestly – what the situation is.
– Kopacz pointed out and added that such actions “must have character.”
How he is a coward and can’t fight hard for Polish interests there, but he comes to Poland and pretends to be a hero and claims that everyone is to blame but him, it’s a bit annoying.
– said Kopacz and probably forgot what Tusk said about it.
I am in constant contact with Brussels. I would really like no one to burn this work, because we are close to the finish line, and here is my sincere appeal, especially to Commissioner Wojciechowski, who has been quite passive during this long, long period. months, not to mention that he has damaged this case, and it would be good if he did not spoil anything at any stage, even now, when we may be concluding these actions.
– said Tusk as he hurried to take a plane to Bucharest, where the EPP Congress was taking place.

Tusk’s coalition blames Wojciechowski
In addition, when asked whether MEPs will put pressure on the EC to change the provisions of the Green Deal, Kopacz pointed to the meetings between MPs and commissioners dealing with individual sectors of the economy.
For four and a half years, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, who attended such meetings in the European Parliament, did not discuss this topic at all, and all he talked about was fertilizers.
— Vice-President of the European Parliament.
Our Commissioner, who was completely mindlessly observing the situation – the provisions of the Green Deal, the inflow of grain from Ukraine to Poland – did not react, did not monitor, did not say that anything should be done. There were no such signals from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki
– she said. However, it is worth recalling that the Green Deal was created when Donald Tusk was the head of the European Council, and its main author is Frans Timmermans, who then aggressively attacked the United Right government.
