The new issue of the weekly magazine “Sieci” analyzes the brutal pacification of a peaceful peasant demonstration. Does the suppression of this protest mean a return to the model of the previous government of Donald Tusk, when provocations were organized against demonstrators and miners were shot at? “Tusk at Full Speed”
In recent days, the media has circulated information and recordings showing the brutal behavior of police officers against farmers protesting in Warsaw. This behavior – as indicated Marek Pyza in the article “Tusk at full speed” – resembled situations from the time of the first PO and PSL governments. It is difficult not to get the impression that the coalition government wants to present farmers as an aggressive gang that organizes riots. This in turn is intended to reduce public support for the demonstrators’ legitimate demands.
After all, farmers, together with other professional groups and trade unionists who support them, pose the greatest threat to Tusk’s killers today, also because the majority of society sympathizes with their demands. So it was necessary to create a propaganda message that these were hooligans with whom you should not talk. And so the Prime Minister presented it on Thursday morning. Before going to his directors for the European People’s Party congress, he said that “the police behaved with extreme restraint”, he outright lied and claimed that no police officer threw anything at the demonstrators, and finally added: ” I will not talk To hooligans, I will just talk to the farmers.” The head of government’s brutal words and tone only confirm that the demonstration went as he expected
– writes Marek Pyza.
Careful observers are certainly now wondering about the purpose of the new government’s actions.
We must fear opposition against Tusk’s team. Don’t go to demonstrations. Don’t support the opposition. Enjoy the rule of smiling hitters whose lawlessness is applauded by Western pseudo-elites. Pacifying peasants is merely a means to achieve the primary goal: pacifying the entire society and turning Poland into an inert colony governed by external directives. The question is: will we allow this?
– asks the publicist.
“The revolution that sows fear in Europe”
Marek Budzisz in the article “The revolution that causes fear in Europe” Analyzing the development of electromobility in the world, he notes that it can take place without the significant influence of old car companies that are already losing out to the competition.
Companies like Volkswagen or Audi cannot compete on an equal footing with new players in the car market. This is clearly visible in the sales data. Last year, legacy carmakers, even though they tried hard and introduced more than 100 new models of electric vehicles, sold less in total than the two market leaders – China’s BYD and Tesla […].
The journalist writes that the first threat to the German car industry is the expansion of Tesla, which… Unlike traditional manufacturers, it has based its success on limiting the number of companies working with it and aiming to concentrate the entire production cycle under one roof. The second threat is the expansion of Chinese BYD into the European market, mainly the German one.
Two weeks ago, a special ship from the BYD group called at the port of Bremerhaven, which could transport up to 5,000 people in one trip. cars. It is the size of 2.5 football fields, and market observers believe that these types of units will only be built when major expansions are planned. The Chinese have such plans, which Michael Shu, responsible for the European market, speaks openly about. As he admits: “demand is growing, searches for our models on Google have overtaken Tesla, we plan to achieve a lot in the European market.”
“Planet of Fat Men”
Research published in The Lancet indicates that from 1990 to 2022, the world obesity rate more than doubled, and in the group of children and adolescents aged 5 to 19 years, it more than quadrupled. The problem of obesity is becoming more and more serious, as indicated Aleksandra Rybińska in the article “Planet of fat people”.
Over the same period, the analysis found that the percentage of underweight girls, boys and adults fell by a fifth, a third and a half respectively. As the study authors say, “for the first time, obesity has become a greater threat to global health than hunger.” According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, every sixth Pole in Poland is overweight or obese. (…) The rich, but especially the poor, are gaining weight, and the pace of change is alarming. In China, less than a third of adults were overweight in 2002; now it is 51 percent, of which 16.4 percent are morbidly obese. In Qatar, more than 70 percent of people are overweight or obese, including almost 46%. school children. A quarter of the British population has a BMI over 30
– writes the columnist.
A major problem in the fight against obesity is not only the lower availability and shorter freshness of healthy food, but also the financial issue.
In many countries, such as the US, processed food is much cheaper than fresh food. And sweetened and carbonated drinks cost less than bottled water. Then there is fast food, which has taken the world by storm. There are currently more than 2 million fast food restaurants in China. KFC is the largest brand with more than 5,000 stores. branches. Over the past 30 years, KFC has been joined by Taco Bell, McDonald’s and Pizza Hut.
