In the election campaign, the Platform promised “100 details for 100 days of government”, but the closer March 22, when the 100 days expire, the clearer it becomes that not only 100 details, but even a few of these will not are carried out.
Even the measure that was initiated as soon as teacher salaries were increased appeared to cause great dissatisfaction among both interested parties and the local authorities that would have to pay for these increases. Well, it turned out that only a small group of teachers will receive the announced increase in salary of PLN 1.5 thousand (and this is the increase that Donald Tusk has promised many times), for the vast majority it will be increases of PLN 1 .1 thousand to PLN 1.3 thousand PLN thousand In addition, despite statements that local governments will receive additional amounts of education subsidies intended to fully cover teacher salary increases, local authorities have not received such funds, which means that these increases are partially must be financed from their own resources that local authorities have. are usually short at the beginning of the year. So the declaration, which was a flagship of the majority of the new government, is being implemented, since after December the vast majority of teachers will receive these pay increases only in April (with compensation from January), in a lower amount than was promised. And what’s more, local governments, especially smaller ones, don’t have the full resources to pay for these increases.
Even in the case of such a promise, which was obvious because it did not require budgetary resources, the government first postponed making a decision, and when they finally decided to implement it, it turned out that they were not protecting the interests of the banks protected instead of citizens. These are credit holidays for young people who have borrowed money for their first apartment. Although the Council of Ministers has decided to adopt the draft law on credit holidays for 2024, this significantly reduces the number of borrowers who can benefit from it. The introduction of a limitation on the loan amount (up to PLN 1.2 million), as well as the introduction of an income criterion (only the situation when the loan repayment exceeds 30% of the family income will allow the use of this solution) will most likely result in only about 30 percent who will be able to use them. existing borrowers. Everything indicates that the banks have won in the clash between the government and the banks, because they were the ones who blocked the introduction of loan exemptions from the beginning of this year, and moreover they tried to introduce such criteria that the number of people eligible for them eligible would be much smaller compared to the solutions introduced by the government: Law and Justice.
Spot removed
Not a single politician from the ruling coalition even mentions flagship election promises such as a tax-free allowance of PLN 60,000 PIT, the possibility of tax deducting health insurance premiums for entrepreneurs or ZUS holidays. In fact, the famous election spot in which the leading politicians of the Platform, led by the current Minister of Finance, MP Andrzej Domański, promised a salary of up to PLN 5,000 per month excluding PIT, has just been removed from social media. Five Platform MPs, Kinga Gajewska, Arkadiusz Myrcha, Izabela Leszczyna, Arkadiusz Marchewka and the aforementioned Andrzej Domański, are trying to cover up “the traces” of their party’s election declarations.
The Platform wants to make some of the election promises caricatures of previous proposals, just like with the so-called grandmother’s benefit, i.e. a benefit of PLN 1.5 thousand per month for grandmothers, so that mothers can quickly return to work after the birth of a child. It now appears that in order to receive this benefit, you must enter into an employment contract with a care provider, and that a mother who returns to work cannot earn more than the minimum wage. It is difficult to imagine that such a benefit will solve the problem of women’s rapid return to work after the birth of a child; rather, it will strain the nerves of those who might be interested.
Some promises disappear like camphor, even their traces are erased, some are only partially implemented, others are modified in such a way that they become a caricature of previous proposals. In this situation, to avoid slander in two weeks, we will most likely start explaining that the ruling coalition has four years to fulfill its election promises, because no one in their ‘common sense’ should even assume that the program of 100 promises will actually take place. are deployed 100 times a day.
