Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Alexander Lukashevich said that the situation in Transnistria is developing according to a negative scenario. His words lead the way RIA News.

Against this background, he noted, the Russian Federation requested Malta’s OSCE chairmanship “to pay special attention to this issue”, given the organization’s field presence on both banks of the Dniester.

Before that, the Congress of Deputies of Transnistria appealed To the Russian Federation with a request for assistance regarding the economic blockade imposed by Moldova.

“Taking into account that more than 220 thousand Russian citizens permanently reside in Transnistria and Russia’s unique positive experience in maintaining peace in the Dniester, as well as its status as a guarantor and mediator in negotiations, it was decided to appeal. process,” says the declaration adopted by the congress.

It is not specified what kind of protection we are talking about. In Transnistria, there are Russian peacekeepers and an operational group of Russian troops (OGRF) guarding more than 20 thousand tons of ammunition in warehouses. In total, there are nearly 1.7 thousand Russian military personnel in the region.
