A surprising turn of events took place at the Wielkopolska Voivodeship meeting, where an exchange of views took place on the removal of the history of the Greater Poland Uprising from the core curriculum by Minister Barbara Nowacka. As PiS councilor Adam Bogrycewicz stated in the program “In the center of events” of Polish television, it was finally possible to unanimously appeal to the ministry in defense of the uprising at the turn of 1918/1919 , but on one condition..
The conversation was attended by Aleksandra Prorok from the Warsaw-Wola District Council and the aforementioned. Councilor of the Wielkopolska Regional Council Adam Bogrycewicz. Guests of Jakub Maciejewski They reported on the difficulties they encounter in conversations with PO politicians in defense of Polish history. Politicians who support the government find it difficult to commemorate the victims of, for example, the German massacre in Wola in August 1944.
Councilor Prophet said:
Opposition to the removal of the Wola massacre from the core curriculum of secondary schools and technical schools is, according to PO politicians, part of the local government’s campaign and “doing politics”. The situation is downright bizarre. We as a club for Law and Justice have submitted a position to the full district council. A very balanced position in which we wanted to protest against the removal of the Wola massacre from education, because it is part of our, and not only local, identity.
Councilor Bogrycewicz came across a similar story in Poznań, but there they found a way to reach unanimity on the opposition to scrapping the Greater Poland Uprising.
The Law and Justice Club took a strong and unequivocal position on the greatness of the Greater Poland Uprising and the involvement of resources in the issues of the Museum of the Greater Poland Uprising. The Platform has submitted some amendments, for example it has not accepted that the name of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki would appear in the position of the Regional Assembly as head of government who donated money for the construction of the Greater Poland Uprising Museum. But as a compromise we agreed to it.
So the Platform can only defend Polish identity if the merits of Law and Justice are left out?
