“First of all, I hope that this committee will explain the mechanism of the massive election lie that Civic Platform used to misrepresent reality,” Law and Justice MP Paweł Jabłoński said in Telewizja wPoland, referring to the upcoming hearings of the Committee of Inquiry to the visa scandal. According to the former deputy foreign minister, “those responsible for these lies” should also be summoned before the committee.
The deliberations of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the visa scandal have begun. Today the first witnesses appeared before her.

PO’s lies
Former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński commented on the work of the investigative committee responsible for issuing visas to Telewizja in Poland.
First of all, I hope that this committee – since it has already been established – will explain the mechanism of the powerful election lie that Civic Platform used to falsely present this reality.
– said the PiS MP.
The visa scandal was announced in 2023. According to Jabłoński it was used by PO during the election campaign. The allegations concern several hundred cases of incorrectly issuing deadlines.
They escalated it in the media to 200,000, and later to 300,000. Visa. For this purpose they used many different types of lies. In fact, the media supporting the platform – especially TVN – recorded statements from several African visa lobbyists. Even when these explanations appeared, they turned out to be insufficient, so they furthermore interpreted them falsely, putting various things into the mouths of these people that suited their thesis.
– said the former deputy minister.
I hope that those responsible for these lies will also be brought before this committee
– added.
Irregularities from the period of the Sikorski and Tusk governments
As he noted, “the fundamental reason why these various irregularities were possible is the system created when Radosław Sikorski was Foreign Minister in the previous government of Donald Tusk.”
Jabłoński explained that it was a system of privatization of consular services.
Some of these consular services are provided by different private companies, and sometimes there are indeed dishonest intermediaries. There is nothing wrong with this system if it is carefully monitored
– the PiS MP said that “the platform subsequently rejected his party’s amendments”.
It is also important to explain this political mechanism, because this issue benefited the Platform electorally
– Jabłoński pointed to Telewizja wPoland and emphasized that “the mechanism of this lie must also be explained.” As he added. “People who lied, including journalists who contributed to this, must appear before this committee.”

EU money for Poland
Paweł Jabłoński, in an interview with Telewizja wPoland, also referred to the issue of releasing EU funds for Poland under the National Reconstruction Plan. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced after the meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk that two decisions will soon be taken on European funds for Poland, which will release up to 137 billion euros from the Cohesion Fund and the Reconstruction Fund. .
The former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that during the PiS government, laws were passed allowing the disbursement of EU money if conditions were met.
This results directly from the payment application submitted by Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. They refer directly to the laws passed by our government in 2022-2023.
– he pointed out.
‘The EC is finally acting in accordance with the law’
Previously, the European Commission carried out blackmail and ordered the implementation of the so-called milestones to enable KPO payment.
Ms von der Leyen says everything is great and the money will be released. I will say this: I appreciate it very much. I am happy that the Commission has finally decided to act in accordance with the law, because Poland is entitled to the money under the treaties and the Commission has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of the Member States – those who are not transferred to EU powers.
– Jabłoński explained.
It is very good that the Commission is acting in accordance with the law. It is very bad that she acted illegally for months. This confirms that the reasons were political. If the Commission had acted in accordance with the law, the money would also have gone to Poland when Law and Justice was in power
– emphasized the former deputy minister.
“The crisis of the rule of law in the EU”
As he noted, “this is evidence of a massive crisis of the rule of law at the top of the EU.”
If political agreements take precedence over legal provisions, treaties, regulations and directives, there is a crisis of the rule of law in the EU. It cannot be the case that a decision about the same country based on exactly the same regulations is different when the government of party A is in power and different when the government of party B is in power. I’m not talking about the Platform and PiS here, but about the system. If the system breaks down to such an extent that party colors determine the application of the law, this means that the European Union is terribly rotten from a legal perspective. This crisis will greatly weaken the EU
– Jabłoński summarized.
The National Recovery Plan for Poland foresees 55 investments and 55 reforms aimed at strengthening the Polish economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. Within this pool, Poland will receive EUR 59.8 billion (PLN 268 billion), of which EUR 25.27 billion (PLN 113.28 billion) in the form of grants and EUR 34.54 billion (PLN 154.81 billion) in the form of form of preferential loans. In line with EU objectives, a significant part of the KPO budget should be allocated to: climate objectives (46.6%), digital transformation (21.3%) and social reforms (22.3%). Under the cohesion policy for the period 2021-2027, Poland will receive more than PLN 340 billion (EUR 76 billion).
