Today the Sejm elected PiS MP Michał Wójcik as a member of the Postal Elections Investigative Committee, replacing MP Paweł Jabłoński, who was excluded from it.
419 MPs voted in favor of the resolution on the addition of MP Michał Wójcik (PiS), none were against, and 5 MPs abstained.
In mid-February, the Postal Elections Investigative Committee excluded Paweł Jabłoński (PiS) from the committee. PiS MPs did not participate in the vote on the exclusion and left the room together with Jabłoński.
The chairman of the committee, Dariusz Joński (PiS), announced in a conversation with journalists that he would submit a request to appoint Jabłoński as a witness.
Declassification of emails
Jabłoński’s exclusion was related to the fact that during the previous meeting the investigative committee had released emails from Michał Dworczyk’s work mailbox from the time when he was head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and confronted him with them.
One of these emails (dated May 13, 2020) mentioned the name of the then Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paweł Jabłoński. In this email, the former head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery allegedly wrote that he had consulted Paweł Jabłoński about the Prime Minister’s decision to hold postal elections.
After the email was revealed, which mentioned consultations with Jabłoński, the chairman of the committee, Dariusz Joński (KO), asked her advisors to advise on the possibility of excluding Jabłoński from the committee.
