The December 13 coalition has been in power for less than a hundred days, and it is difficult to resist the impression that there is total chaos within the government and the coalition. Ministers make contradictory statements, coalition politicians accuse each other of all kinds of things and pay haters to attack fellow coalition partners, election spots disappear one by one from the internet, 100 special events for 100 days turn out to be a meaningless metaphor, farmers protest and food prices skyrocket. Is there a pilot flying with you?
The ruling coalition becomes a parody of itself at the speed of light. The promised professionalism and keeping one’s word were not there. In 2015, Gazeta Polska published a recording of a conversation between Radosław Sikorski and Jacek Rostowski. The conversation revealed a picture of total disregard for the voters.
Promising twice is the same as delivering once
– joked the current head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Political promises only bind those who believe in them
– joked former Finance Minister Jan Rostowski.
And apparently nothing has changed. Pre-election spots with promises disappear from the social media of PO and politicians from the Civic Coalition. It did not escape the attention of platform X users that Kinga Gajewska deleted a video about the number of ministers in the PiS government. That is not surprising, because the current government has more than 130 ministers and state secretaries, and this does not have to be the end. The ridicule about the tax-free amount and the announcement of the lowest taxes in history also disappeared from the PO accounts. And the politicians of the ruling coalition (including Minister Dariusz Wieczorek, Marshal Kidawa Błońska and Senator Adam Szejnfeld) travel through the media saying that a hundred details for a hundred days was a metaphor (just like the announcement of the unblocking of the KPO the day after the elections). elections) that in fact it took about 4 years and that work would only start in the areas indicated. This rapid retreat from promises is not surprising, as fuel prices are far from the announced amount of 5.19 and fuel costs have increased. The Minister of Infrastructure has increased the rates for 2024 for all types of fuels by 13.2%. Energy prices will be higher because the price freeze will only last until mid-year. There will also be no volunteer SISTER. There will be a total demolition of the Polish school, the core curriculum will be neutered, literature will disappear, Polish heroes, history, tradition and ultimately knowledge will be removed. Yes, knowledge. It won’t be there either because if the teacher can’t enforce it with a grade or homework, it just won’t be there.
The coalition partners are on edge
Politicians from the ruling coalition are taking an increasingly aggressive stance in public. For example, Rotating Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty accused the Second Rotating Marshal, Szymon Hołownia, and Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz of blocking legal abortion and that he has had enough. To this the rotating Hołownia replied that Tsarzasty was lying, and Tomasz Trela accused Hołownia of being against women. Moreover, in a conversation with farmers, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak claimed that his boss, Minister Siekierski, was responsible for making decisions and that farmers should demand him to take action. The Left does not accept the PSL minister’s housing plan and does not agree to the halting of CPK construction by the government of which it is a member. Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Urszula Zielińska assures Brussels that Poland wants a 90% CO2 reduction, her boss claims that this is not the government’s position, and Deputy Minister of State Assets Marcin Kulasek states on the radio that zero emissions are not at all possible and the climate objectives need to be re-discussed. In addition, it is difficult to say what the government plans in terms of armaments, because at one time we hear that the contracts with the Koreans must be renegotiated, and then they must be implemented because the threat from Russia is serious , and in general Poland will raze Putin to the ground. In addition, it turned out that PO generously paid a well-known internet hater who, among other things, brutally attacked Szymon Hołownia. To say it’s a bunch of kids in shorts hitting each other over the head with rakes is an understatement. You could actually sit in front of the TV with popcorn, as Szymon Hołownia encouraged, and watch this circus with amusement, but it’s a shame for Poland.
Those in power agree on one thing: the threat from Russia is very serious and they behave as if they only understood it after they took power. I think they are beginning to understand the words of Lech Kaczyński, who said in a square in Tbilisi in 2008:
And we also know very well that today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow the Baltic States, and then perhaps it will be time for my country, Poland!
The migration pact, which has already been adopted by one of the EP committees, also poses a threat to Poland’s security. And the threat to Polish sovereignty is the EU’s rapidly advancing plans for centralization and treaty changes, because decisions about Poland will then be made almost exclusively above our heads. But public opinion does not have to worry about this. After all, there are investigative committees, “descriptions” of institutions, and everyone is supposed to be happy and smiling. And period.
