Magdalena Biejat of the Razem party has announced that she will run for mayor of Warsaw. She listed social housing, education and safety among her priorities.
Today I can officially say with great pride, joy and gratitude that I will run for the office of President of the Capital in these (local) elections. Warsaw
– Biejat announced at a press conference on Castle Square in Warsaw.
Biejat focuses on large investments
She emphasized that the capital of a European country, Warsaw, “deserves vision and courage.”
For the courage to focus on big public investments, on bold ventures, to improve the lives of the people of this city, because we simply can afford it
– said the co-chairman of the Razem Party.
Housing, education, safety
She presented the main goals she would like to achieve as mayor of the capital. First she replaced the apartments.
Warsaw must finally start a major investment program in social housing, in housing for all
– she emphasized.
Biejat mentioned education second, saying that “this is an issue that Warsaw should finally really focus on.”
I am a mother of school-age children and I know very well how big a problem it is to have access to good education, to good public schools in Warsaw. It is time that our children, in Poland’s largest city, can count on school being safe for them, being cared for at school and being able to develop at school
– said Biejat.
She called her third top priority “a safe and friendly public space.”
In this context, she spoke of the need to ensure safety on the streets of the capital and the need to create an accessible, green and friendly public space.
