The Citizens Coalition starts a local government campaign. This will be opened by Donald Tusk on Sunday at the primary school in Morąg. In an interview with Onet, KO politicians do not hide that they want to continue the good run after the parliamentary elections and weaken PiS as much as possible. “We want to throw them beyond the Vistula River,” argues a member of the PO authorities.
The school in Morąg is the place where Donald Tusk organized the last meeting on October 13 before the electoral lull ahead of the last parliamentary elections. In addition to Tusk, Rafał Trzaskowski is also expected to be among the speakers. KO will continue to display red and white flags instead of party symbols.
Red and white flags are more welcome. After all, this is a meeting with the Prime Minister, and not just the head of the PO
– notes one of the activists in an interview with Onet.
From the words of a person close to the Prime Minister, quoted by Onet, it can be concluded that, as usual, there will be no shortage of aggressive statements from Donald Tusk towards political rivals.
The boss will certainly place a strong emphasis on the need to remove PiS activists from key positions in local government, because Nowogrodzka has done everything in recent years to eliminate local authorities. We will change it
– says the person in question.
KO has set itself a very ambitious target for the upcoming local government elections. According to Onet, in the minimal variant they want to take away power from PiS in the Lower Silesian parliaments, as well as in the provinces of Lesser Poland, Świętokrzyskie and Łódź.
We want to push them beyond the Vistula line, but we also see a real opportunity for PiS members to lose power in their strongholds in eastern Poland. In favorable circumstances, even Podkarpacie can be taken from them
– emphasizes a member of the PO authorities.
Onet’s text shows that KO strongly believes in continuing his success in the parliamentary elections, including in the local government elections. However, it is worth remembering for the formation of Donald Tusk that local government elections are of a different nature. Moreover, Poles have already begun to notice some illegal actions by Donald Tusk’s coalition.
