The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasily Malyuk, was summoned to the Verkhovna Rada in connection with the scandal regarding the surveillance of journalists. Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak also wrote this on his Telegram channel.
“After the speech of the Chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Expression, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, regarding the tapping of the phones of Bihus.Info journalists, I put to the vote the issue of summoning the head of the SBU to the Rada,” he said.
According to him, 159 Rada deputies voted “in favour”.
Earlier, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska said that there is control over the activities of Ukrainian special services.
Before that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) presented Charge against an employee of the country’s Supreme Court for supporting the Russian Federation. According to the intelligence service, the employee is charged under an article of the Criminal Code for justifying Russia’s actions, which Ukrainian authorities consider aggression. The SBU alleges that the defendant, in meetings with his subordinates, rejected the sovereignty of Ukraine and supported the actions of Russian military forces.
