Novatek figured out how to find new customers for gas sales under sanctions 15:56

Russian manufacturer Novatek has reportedly opened an office in China Reuters.

According to the publication’s sources, the ten-person team was led by Xu Jinhai, the former head of Gazprombank in China. The department will deal with marketing and business development.

Thus, Novatek expects to find customers for its new project for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) Arctic LNG 2, which came under US sanctions in November 2023.

In 2023, China overtook Japan to become the world’s largest LNG buyer. The main suppliers were Australia, Qatar, Russia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Recently, Gazprom Established A new daily record for gas supplies to China. The transit is carried out through the “Power of Siberia” within the framework of the bilateral agreement with the Chinese CNPC.
