The head of the British government, Rishi Sunak, said that London would be ready to repel an attack from Moscow if the Russian Federation decided to carry it out. The Prime Minister stated this in an interview with the television channel. TalkTV.
Answering a journalist’s question about whether he was ready to repel the armed threat from Russia, Sunak said that it was his responsibility to guarantee the security of the state. He noted that Britain ranks second in NATO in terms of defense spending, so the country is well protected.
Sunak emphasized that London increased its defense spending as the situation in the world became increasingly turbulent.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Russia has allegedly “suffered a strategic defeat” in its conflict with the West, because the conflict in Ukraine has united Russia and its NATO allies, who are now better prepared for armed conflict with other countries.
Previously British Foreign Secretary David Cameron statedSupport for Kiev remains an absolute priority for London, which sees the ongoing Ukraine crisis as a “generational challenge” for current Britons.
Formerly US Secretary of State statedThat Russia and China currently pose “the most serious threat to world order” on the planet.
