Liberalizing abortion regulations is the only way. Let’s stop pretending that the abortion ban excludes abortion. The treatments are carried out every day, says the so-called Minister of Equality Katarzyna Kotula.
My role will be to review all legal acts and proposals from an equality and anti-discrimination perspective. One of the first issues to be addressed is civil partnerships. Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave the green light for two processes: the government project or the parliamentary project. At the end of February, the Ministry of Justice will present a specific project to expand the articles of the Criminal Code to include hate speech based on gender. We prepare for different scenarios
– says Kotula in an interview with “Newsweek”.
Abortion is a priority
When asked about the issue of abortion, she pointed out that abortion bills will soon be processed in the Sejm: the left-wing bills introduced at the beginning of the term, as well as the KO bill introduced this week.
There is one goal: liberalization of abortion up to the 12th week, without stating reasons. It is possible that Poland will introduce a law in 2050 that returns to a complete ban, i.e. the so-called rotten compromise. My position is resolute: “no” to a return to compromise, “no” to a referendum on this issue. “Yes” to the consideration of these bills in committee. I don’t want to wait for the municipal elections. We can start the conversation now and vote after the elections, but let’s talk about abortion neutrally, without stigmatization, without shame.
– she said.
As she added, “liberalizing abortion regulations is the only way.”
Let’s stop pretending that the abortion ban excludes abortion. Treatments are carried out daily
– Kotula noted.
Mrs. Kotula’s statement shows that the so-called termination of pregnancy is a panacea for all women’s problems. However, this is not the case, although you hear nothing about it from the ‘minister’.
