Armenia explained the non-aggression pact proposed to Azerbaijan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he offered to sign a non-aggression pact with Azerbaijan if the signing of the peace agreement between the countries is postponed. This was reported by Sputnik Armenia.

“If it turns out that the signing of the peace agreement will be delayed, we suggested signing a non-aggression pact,” said Pashinyan, adding that a joint arms control mechanism was proposed to Azerbaijan.

The politician also drew attention to Baku’s recent aggressive statements regarding reforms in the Armenian army, as well as the weapons and equipment it has acquired. Pashinyan emphasized that having a strong army is the state’s right to sovereignty, and questioning this means questioning the country’s right to exist.

The Prime Minister stated that he is ready to give long-term guarantees that Armenia will not have any territorial claims, but he expects the same from others.
