This is an important event not only for us, but also for Poland. The current central government has shown what it thinks about democracy, the rule of law and its constitution, PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek said when asked about the upcoming local government elections in an interview for “Nasz Dziennik”.
Local government elections
Czarnek, asked by “Nasz Dziennik” about the local elections to be held on April 7 and a possible second round on April 21, and how important this event is from his point of view, replied:
This is an important event not only for us, but also for Poland. The current central government has shown how it thinks about democracy, the rule of law and its constitution. In this situation, such important bodies as regional assemblies, provincial councils and municipalities must maintain their independence from these people.
Asked whether PiS can lead to a change in the situation in cities a few months after the parliamentary elections, Czarnek said: “I think it is a very difficult task.”
We must take into account that this website has achieved a huge media advantage: it manipulates the message about current events almost every day.
– said the former Minister of Education and Science.
Will he fight for Lublin himself?
When asked if he was preparing to participate in the local elections, Przemysław Czarnek said: “I will participate in them because I am preparing them.”
I am chairman of the provincial board of PiS. I am responsible for supervising the preparation of electoral lists for the Lublin Voivodeship Assembly and the county councils
– he inquired.
I also participate in the preparation of candidates for city presidents, municipal heads and mayors. Only then do I think about participating in the elections
– added the PiS-MP.
We have many candidates for the position of mayor of Lublin (…) and they are very strong personalities
– he assured.
It doesn’t have to be me
– emphasized Przemysław Czarnek.
