The head of the Ministry of Justice, Attorney General Adam Bodnar, will establish a Justice Fund investigation team at the National Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Justice announced. The team should examine the appropriateness of the management and expenditure of the Fund’s resources; is checked, among other things: issue of purchasing the Pegasus system – added.
The Ministry of Justice has indicated that the team will consist of prosecutors who will review the notifications and procedures received by the prosecutor’s office in recent years in this case.
The research team will investigate whether the Justice Fund has been properly managed and whether the funds have been spent in accordance with the law and the assumptions.

Firstly, it was added, it is intended to analyze the Justice Fund notifications sent to individual prosecutor’s offices in the country in recent years.
This applies to all reports – both from individuals and from state institutions

The investigation team checks, among other things: preparatory procedure regarding the Ex Bono foundation. It contains a notification to the Supreme Court of Audit and has been sent to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Opole

Purchase of Pegasus
An important part of the team’s activities – it was emphasized – will be the issue of purchasing the Pegasus system from the Justice Fund.
The Ministry of Justice announced last Monday that payments from the Justice Fund were suspended on December 27. From this date, each payment will be subject to a content analysis before execution and will not be executed without individual consent.
