“We are dealing with a very justified suspicion of committing a crime at the highest level of government,” former Deputy Justice Minister Marcin Romanowski said in an interview with wPolityce.pl. According to him, Tusk’s coalition is building a “system of lawlessness” in Poland, and the illegal attempt to take over the prosecutor’s office is intended to ensure “impunity” for actions that clearly break the law.
They are building a system of lawlessness
The prosecutor’s office received a report about the possibility of committing a crime at the highest level of government.
As parliamentarians, we have reported a crime that is not only based on art. 231, i.e. abuse of power, but also regarding an attempt to change the constitutional system by force. The latter in connection with information about blackmail directed by Attorney General Adam Bodnar against National Prosecutor Barski
– Marcin Romanowski, a member of parliament from the PiS (Sovereign Poland) club, told the wPolityce.pl portal.
As he emphasized in the interview, “the accusation of abuse of power from a legal and factual point of view does not, in my opinion, raise any doubt, in light of the information we have in the public domain.” Naturally, the Public Prosecution Service will assess the case.
We are dealing with a very reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed at the highest level of government. I assume that proceedings will be initiated in this case for the time being. In order to bring charges against Adam Bodnar, but also against other people, because the publicly released recording shows that Prime Minister Donald Tusk participated in these activities, their immunity must be lifted.
– said the former deputy minister.
It is easy to predict that the Sejm dominated by Tusk’s coalition will not make the task of the prosecutor any easier.
The Sejm’s consent to lift these immunities remains an open question. From the fact that these are ministers and the prime minister of the current ruling coalition, which has a majority, it can be concluded that such an agreement will not take place. But we must then realize that voting for impunity for Tusk or Bodnar amounts to voting against the rule of law and choosing the state of lawlessness that these people are creating before our eyes.
– said Romanowski.
Why did the new government of the KO-Polski2025-PSL-Links coalition decide to take measures that undermine the rule of law and the constitution?
These people are building a closed system of lawlessness for us. They are trying to illegally take over the public prosecutor’s office, without appropriate changes to the law. They obviously have the right to change state structures, but while retaining legal instruments and in accordance with the Constitution. However, because they do not have an appropriate majority and have to take the president’s veto into account, they illegally take power. And these are powerful actions aimed at taking over important elements of public power. Just like with the public media and now with the Public Prosecution Service
– emphasized the former Deputy Minister of Justice.
A creeping coup
The Public Prosecution Service is another institution that has witnessed an attempt to take over Tusk’s coalition by force. Control over her means control over the procedures she conducts.
They want to take control of prosecutors who are independent of them, to ensure impunity for themselves in general and impunity in particular for the crimes they have just committed.
– said Romanowski.
And there are many accusations of illegal actions just four weeks after the inauguration of Tusk’s government.
After all, information about this is already in the public space. For example, there is a suspicion that they have used illegal operational activities and eavesdropping in connection with the illegal detention and deprivation of liberty of MPs Kamiński and Wąsik. Or there are suspicions that the notarial deed has actually been forged, with which the media has been illegally taken over. The registry court has now determined that the authorities indicated in this takeover are unlawful. Meanwhile, PG Adam Bodnar personally took over the registration matters and ordered the withdrawal of the position of the Public Prosecution Service, which, as it turned out, was fully consistent with the position of the Registration Court stating that the actions of Lt. Col. Sienkiewicz.
– said our interlocutor and asked: “What else is needed to conclude that these people want to twist things against themselves?”
What awaits us in the coming months? I think this is very dangerous. Just a month ago, none of us, neither PiS supporters nor the Civic Coalition, could have imagined that such things could happen. Even though some ardent PO supporters may be happy about this because they don’t realize that lawlessness can affect anyone, I don’t think they expected that these people would try to so brutally take over the subsequent institutions and break the law. violate. AND They need a prosecutor’s office controlled by them to go unpunished
– emphasized the former deputy head of the Ministry of Justice. According to him, we must be aware that if we do not stop and resist these actions, we will witness a creeping coup d’état and no longer slide into a banana republic, but into lawlessness.
