Prime Minister Donald Tusk dismissed the chairman of the Social Insurance Institution, Gertruda Uścińska, the Government Information Center reported on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, submitted a request to the Prime Minister to dismiss Uścińska.
The head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy explained her decision in a post on the X platform.
New challenges in the field of social security, posed by the coalition government of October 15, require a new opening that guarantees responsible management of such an important institution.

On Wednesday, CIR said in a statement that Prime Minister Donald Tusk dismissed Gertruda Uścińska from her position.
New president next week
On Tuesday, the head of government announced at a press conference that the new president of ZUS will be announced next week.
Uścińska has been at the head of ZUS since February 2016.
The Prime Minister appoints and dismisses the chairman of ZUS at the request of the minister responsible for social security, in accordance with the law of 13 October 1998 on the social security system.
