Preparations for the municipal elections are going according to plan. In the coming weeks, provisional provincial and district headquarters structures will be formed – PiS MP Radosław Fogiel told PAP when asked about the party’s preparations for the local elections.
PAP asked Fogel what stage preparations for the upcoming local government elections are at.

We are in the phase of candidate consultation, provincial councils are meeting to accept proposals for lists, for example for regional assemblies, but also for candidates for city presidents or mayors.

He also pointed out that the group’s local structures are also preparing lists of candidates for municipal and district councils.
We want these lists to be as strong as possible, both for local councils and lower levels of local government
– argued Fogiel.
The politician assured that Law and Justice wants to achieve “the best possible result” in the upcoming local elections.
We want to introduce many councilors and maintain ownership status in local authorities where possible

Regional programs
Fogiel also announced that the first outlines of regional election programs are already being prepared.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference after the government meeting that April 7 seemed the most likely date for local elections. According to the Electoral Act, local elections must take place between March 31 and April 23, 2024.
