Is Krzysztof Bosak happy with the illegal takeover of TVP by Lieutenant Colonel Sienkiewicz’s people and the huge losses – not only in terms of image, but especially financially – of the company? In a post on Twitter/X, one of the Confederacy’s leaders stated that what happened was good news for his formation, which would “build a credible, ideological right wing.”
Tusk’s team attack on public media
Let us not forget that the Sejm adopted a resolution on the restoration of the rule of law and the impartiality and reliability of the public media and the Polish Press Agency, calling on the Ministry of Finance to take corrective measures. A day later, the Ministry of Culture announced that the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, as a body exercising the property rights of the Ministry of Finance and acting on the basis of the provisions of the Commercial Code, was unlawfully dismissed in December . 19 the current chairmen of the boards of directors of Telewizja Polska SA, Polish Radio SA and the Polish Press Agency SA and the supervisory boards. The minister has unlawfully appointed new supervisory boards of the above-mentioned companies. Companies that have appointed new management boards.
President Andrzej Duda vetoed the 2024 budget law. In his justification, he explained that he did not agree to allocate the PLN 3 billion specified in the law to “illegally taken over public media”.
Sienkiewicz announced that, due to the president’s decision to suspend funding of public media, he decided to liquidate TVP, Polskie Radio and PAP. The state of liquidation can be withdrawn by the owner at any time – stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Sienkiewicz also announced that he had decided to liquidate seventeen regional companies of Polish radio stations.
Was TVP a problem for PiS?
Bosak stated in a post on Twitter that “TVP’s first weeks after the takeover are signals that position it as a left-liberal medium, devoid of sharp, real ideological and political discussions.”
He also stated – writing about unofficial conversations, without names or details – that “some PiS politicians are satisfied with this state of affairs” because they considered Telewizja Polska a “ball and chain” that is “dragging them down.”
Now the problem was solved by their opponent, and as a bonus they got a legend of defenders of pluralism and the rule of law. They hope that soon no one will remember the abuses at TVP and that the positive emotions will continue.
– argued the Southern MP.
According to Bosek, the PO government will not be able to prevent viewers from fleeing the new TVP, but also – in his opinion – “no one expects any brilliance and new quality in the media from Tusk’s team.”
PO has taken over the media, but seems unable to use this situation to its advantage. For now, the new line is rather off-putting to anyone with conservative sensibilities. There is no play, no temptation and no getting carried away into the realm of doubt
– said Bosak.
Bosak about an opportunity for the Confederacy
Where is the Confederacy in all of this? According to Bosak, everything that is happening around TVP is ‘good news’ for the Confederation.
The world of traditional values in Poland holds up better than the level of conservatism of Polish society would suggest. Why? Because the cultural left overheats almost every issue in its radicalism, it is so primitive and neophyte in its ‘Europeanness’ and progressivism that it is funny, stupid and embarrassing to a normal person. In this way, millions of moderate liberals are beginning to feel conservative in the face of the madness being forced upon us. TVP, staffed with political correctness officials from various left-wing newsrooms, could reinforce this trend. The left-wing government of Tusk and the left-wing media monopoly may be too much for a large part of Poles
– said Bosak, adding that PiS “will not appeal to the younger part of society” who “don’t care” about the games with Tusk, but among them there is “awareness of the hypocrisy and harmful program of the PiS- government, the cynicism of Morawiecki and a significant part of the PiS government staff, who might as well form a PO government.
And based on all this – as Bosak argued in his contribution – the Confederation must build “credibility and trust in the people.” At the same time he described Law and Justice as a ‘caricature of the right’.
We know what we have to do: build a credible, ideological right wing. Neither radical nor extreme, nor pretending to be the centre, but simply credible (this requires moderation and seriousness) and ideological (aware of its values and committed to defending them). Of course, we are and will be intensely criticized and attacked from many sides and in every possible way at the same time. We must respond to this as we always do, with a smile and calmness, and then the anger of those who are hostile to us will turn to our advantage.
– said Krzysztof Bosak.
It is a pity that the Deputy Marshal does not even mention in his speech the fact that the public media has been illegally taken over by Sienkiewicz’s team. As always, the only solution is to place full responsibility on PiS – we remind you that Tusk’s coalition has been in power since December 13. And beneath the veil of it all, expressing satisfaction over the murder on public media proves the political immaturity of the Confederacy’s MP.
