A dispute broke out on social media over the introduction of the euro in Poland. An interesting exchange took place between the Member of Parliament of Sovereign Poland, Dariusz Matecki, and a liberal economist from the Economic Freedom Foundation, formerly FOR – Marek Tatała.
The reason for the exchange was Marek Tatała’s posting on the X platform of a photo of a Croatian coin with a face value of 50 euro cents, bearing the image of the scientist Nikola Tesla. The clearly enthusiastic economist speculated that a similar coin could appear in Poland in the future.
Today in Slovenia I received a beautiful Croatian 50 euro cent coin from the excellent scientist Nikola Tesla. Maybe one day 50 euro cents with Nicolaus Copernicus in Poland?
– wrote Marek Tatała.
Consequences of the introduction of the euro
Dariusz Matecki from sovereign Poland was critical of Tatała’s statement and pointed out the negative consequences of Poland’s adoption of the EU currency.
What a beautiful coin. It is worth giving up the national currency and the sovereign central bank for the sake of Nicolaus Copernicus. It is worthwhile to transfer a large part of the NBP reserves to the ECB (Frankfurt, Germany) for such a currency. Maybe we can get some more beads?
– said Dariusz Matecki on the X platform.
Matecki also posted an article recalling that the European Central Bank limited the claims of Italians to create their own monetary policy, stating that “any decision regarding the management of gold reserves cannot be taken without the approval of Frankfurt .”
This is probably what the mad joy of those who support the introduction of the euro in Poland is really about: shiny, Western European trinkets that are supposed to make us feel like we’ve been invited into an exclusive club where they can pat us on the head. will give.
