84 countries voted for Washington’s proposal, 62 opposed and 25 abstained. Therefore, the amendment did not receive the two-thirds vote required for adoption.

Previously, the UN General Assembly accepted Resolution demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. The document was approved by representatives of 153 states. At the same time, diplomats from 10 countries opposed the adoption of the resolution, and representatives of 23 other powers abstained from the vote.
