“During the plenary session of the Sejm, I will again submit an amendment to the draft resolution on the creation of an investigative committee for Pegasus, which will extend the time that this committee could monitor,” PiS MP Michał Wójcik announced on TVN24 on Wednesday.
Recommendations of the Sejm Legislative Commission
Yesterday, the Sejm Legislative Commission issued a positive opinion on draft resolutions regarding: the appointment of an investigative commission to investigate the so-called envelope elections; appointing a commission of inquiry into the so-called visa scandal with amendments.
The committee also issued a positive opinion on the draft resolution on the appointment of a commission of inquiry to investigate, among other things, the legality, regularity and purpose of the operational and reconnaissance activities undertaken: use of Pegasus software by members of the Council of Ministers, special services, the police, tax control authorities and customs and tax control authorities in the period from November 16, 2015 to November 20, 2023.
The committee accepted the amendments submitted by the Citizens’ Coalition. The PiS amendment, which provides for an extension of the time frame for investigating cases by the Pegasus investigative committee, was rejected.
Wójcik: As a journalist, wouldn’t you want to know whether he has been tapped?
Wójcik announced on TVN24 on Wednesday that during the debate on this project at the plenary session of the Sejm, he will again submit an amendment to extend the time period that this committee could monitor.
So not from 2015, but from 2007
– he emphasized.
Why wouldn’t people know what happened at that time? If we are honest and transparent, why not? As a journalist, wouldn’t you want to know whether he has been tapped?
– asked Wójcik.
If there were to be such a commission, it would also have to check, in terms of time and period, the years since 2007, especially since apparently there was a program – and we would like to know, Poles have the right to know – which had much more advanced capabilities than Pegasus
– said the politician.
