Blinken shared his impressions of his recent trip to the Middle East with his colleague. He reiterated that comprehensive work is urgently needed to prevent the conflict from spreading beyond the region.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized that the Houthis’ attacks on private ships in the Red Sea this week constitute an unacceptable threat to maritime security and international law, which all countries must respect.
At the summit between the leaders of the two countries, Blinken and Wang Yi emphasized that the progress made between China and the United States on key issues should be further improved.
