There is room for a dozen or maybe twenty parliamentary investigative committees, there have been so many different PiS scandals and scandals; However, it is difficult to imagine the creation of so many institutions, because it may not look serious – said the deputy head of Poland 2050, Michał Kobosko (Polska 2050-Trzecia Droga) at the PAP Studio on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Sejm held debates on draft resolutions on the creation of investigative committees for Pegasus, for envelope elections and for the so-called visa scandal. The projects were forwarded to the Legislative Commission for further work.
Michał Kobosko, asked in the PAP Studio on Wednesday whether he saw the need to set up further committees, replied that he saw “room for many other committees”.
You could even say that there is room for ten, maybe twenty different assignments. There have been so many different PiS scandals and scandals over the years, there have been so many issues that have not been clarified in any way, that have been swept under the carpet for years, that our voters, the voters of the democratic The opposition have on 15 October, they said very clearly that they expect us to explain these matters, that they expect accountability, that the guilty parties are identified and brought to justice.
– he assessed.
Noting that the establishment of a dozen commissions of inquiry could be seen as a ‘whim’ and a vendetta against Law and Justice, he said one must take into account the extent to which the forces of the current opposition will concentrate on accountability and accountability. to what extent in the implementation of their program and election promises.
It is difficult to imagine that we would now focus exclusively on the settlements, because there are burning issues, there are topics that are important to people and that need to be addressed immediately. (…) My point is that there will of course not be a dozen investigative committees, because such an initiative may not be taken completely seriously.
– said the Polish 2050 MP.
Equality in committees
When asked what equality should look like in terms of the composition of future committees, he replied that it was a topic of discussion among the leaders of KO, Third Way and the Left, but emphasized that “there will certainly be a place and should be for PiS politicians.”
We will certainly vote on each committee member and see what guarantee he gives that his actions within a particular committee will actually serve to clarify matters and not, for example, turn things around or make some other attempt to sweep them under the carpet. It’s over now. These matters will not be forgotten, they will not be swept away, they will be thoroughly explained and dealt with
– assured Kobosko.
The first draft resolution submitted by the KO club concerns “the appointment of a commission of inquiry to examine the legality, regularity and purposefulness of actions, as well as the prevention of abuses, negligence and omissions in the legalization of the stay of foreigners in the territory of the Republic of Poland in the period from January 1, 2019 to November 20, 2023.”
