Political opponents of Law and Justice want to appoint a commission of inquiry to clarify the issue of the so-called envelope elections. The Internet remembered the words of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, who directly stated that she had “thrown them out”.
The statement by the current President of the Senate and future candidate of the Civic Platform for president took place in June 2020. It concerned the elections that were to take place a month earlier.
Kidawa-Błońska then made way for Rafał Trzaskowski. It was the President of Warsaw who represented PO in the elections.
People saw that I withdrew from this fight for a while. And now we need a fresh and strong impetus, and Rafał Trzaskowski is exactly that
– Kidawa-Błońska explained.
She then directly stated that she had “thrown away the May elections”.
This is a relay race, we have to win these elections. I will be very proud if Rafał wins, if I can say that she had a part in it. Once I jettisoned the May elections and led to a new opening. I am focused on Rafał’s victory
– she said.
For me it doesn’t matter who will hold this office. It is important that it is a person who safeguards the Constitution. And don’t let it be President Andrzej Duda, because this is truly a shame for our country
– she added.
Draft resolution
The Sejm is considering a draft resolution, submitted by the Citizens’ Coalition, regarding the establishment of a commission of inquiry into the so-called envelope elections. The Commission should examine the legality, regularity and effectiveness of the measures taken to prepare and implement the 2020 elections for the President of the Republic of Poland in the form of postal voting.
