The new government should be a manifestation of openness on the part of the United Right to different circles, an invitation from different circles to this government – said Jacek Sasin, former deputy prime minister and former minister of assets, on Monday. This government had to be a different government than the one I was in, he added.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin was asked in Polsat’s Guest of Events on Monday why Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has not joined the new government.
This was the Prime Minister’s decision. This is the Prime Minister’s government. I had no idea I would be part of this government. Like most of these ministers you could say political ministers, the ministers who led politicians of Law and Justice. (…) This government would be a different government than the one I was in, that is, the United Right government, which had an independent majority in the Sejm
– said Sasin. He pointed out that the new government has a different task.
It must be an expression of our openness to various circles, an invitation from these various circles to this government, to various programs, a more expert government, but of course also with a political element.
– he pointed out.
This is an interesting line, promising characters, new faces. These are all people who have worked for Poland in one way or another recently
— Sasin assessed the new cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki.
Marzena Małek, who until today served as Director General at the Ministry of State Assets, but also has extensive experience in the field of local government, business and administration, is a person well prepared to lead this ministry.
– added.
Sasin also referred to the question about Mariusz Błaszczak’s presence in the government, because Błaszczak had previously “sworn that he would not be in the new government”.
I think this is a responsible decision by the Prime Minister. (…) State defense and security are no place for experiments and hence this decision. We are a country on the front line, there is a war going on abroad and too frequent changes in the position of the Minister of Defense should be avoided
– Sasin emphasized.
As he noted, the party that won the elections and obtained the largest number of votes should not be deprived of the opportunity to form a government.
There is some fairness to the voters. Nearly 8 million Poles voted for us. These Poles expect that the party they voted for will at least try to form a government and try to extend its mandate. If this attempt fails, that is the democratic decision in Parliament, but we are not relieved of the obligation to make this attempt.
– Sasin noticed.
According to him, now is the time for talks about gaining support for Mateusz Morawiecki’s government to “take place in earnest.”
However, he stressed that since the new government is “in a transition period,” “we will certainly not make any strategic decisions.”
Sasin was also asked why Prime Minister Morawiecki appointed Jacek Ozdoba as minister without portfolio.
This is a coalition government. Minister Ozdoba is a representative of Sovereign Poland, which, together with Law and Justice, creates the United Right and thus the creation of such a position
– he said.
When asked whether, if the ministers had to leave after the second week, they would receive severance pay, he admitted: “Hypothetically, if this mission lasts 2 weeks, whether this severance pay is due, I honestly don’t know. currently.” “. The former deputy prime minister was also asked whether Prime Minister Morawiecki would subject the entire cabinet to a vote of confidence and not resign earlier from the mission to form a government.
As far as I know, this is the Prime Minister’s assumption
– he answered.
