Penza Mayor Alexander Basenko said that his words that there was no need to create “necropolises” of memorial plaques in schools in memory of the participants in the special operation were taken out of context. He wrote this in his book telegram channel.

“The day before, individual words had been crudely removed and fraudulently combined from my message about what was done in Penza to preserve the memory of our soldiers,” he said.

Basenko called for respect for the fighters and an end to information speculation.

According to him, it is planned to create “corners in memory of soldiers” in schools, and a memorial in memory of the Penza participants of the Northern Military District may be held in Penza.

On November 24, the Mayor of Penza proposed at a session of the Penza City Duma to postpone the installation of memorial plaques in schools in memory of participants in the special military operation in Ukraine. According to him, the abundance of signs can turn a school into a “necropolis” and harm the mood of children, and the authorities “need to work on their patriotic education so that they can join the army.” More details material “Newspapers.Ru”.

State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein named “Unacceptable and wrong” attitude of the mayor of Penza Alexander Basenko.

Earlier, an official from Penza left to voluntarily go from duty to the SVO area.
