Prime Minister Morawiecki decided to check Szymon Hołownia’s decisiveness and reminded him that three important bills were waiting in the parliamentary freezer. The head of government reminded the new chairman of the Sejm that at this point it is up to him whether Polish families will benefit from the new solutions.
In his Facebook post, the Prime Minister drew attention to the high polarization in the Polish Sejm.
Mr. Marshal Szymon Hołownia has the opportunity to prove to millions of Poles that he has talent. This time a responsible political leader, not just a presenter. During the elections, Poles decided that they wanted a Sejm of the Republic of Poland that could talk through dialogue and make important decisions. Today, the House of Representatives is more polarized than in the past eight years. Does this mean we are doomed to constant arguments and blaming each other? NO! This is not what the Poles expect! The political scene is different than before October 15, but the interests of Poles and the concerns of Polish families remain the same. And we in the Sejm, and there are 460 of us, from the marshal to the ordinary rookie, have a duty to work hard to dispel these fears and solve the problems.

Ready-made laws
The head of government also called on the chairman of the Sejm to remove three bills from the parliamentary “freezer”. Its introduction could make life considerably easier for Poles.
Today is a great opportunity for this. Three ready-made laws: zero VAT on food; about credit holidays; about freezing electricity prices. They are already in the Sejm, submitted by the Law and Justice club. Why can’t they wait and doesn’t everything depend on the government, as the opposition claims? I’m translating now. It is the representative of the opposition who is the marshal and decides whether they are debated or put in the “freezer”. The same freezer that opposition representatives promised to liquidate. If the laws on freezing electricity prices and zero VAT on food are not passed this year, the person who did not allow the vote will be responsible for price increases in 2024. The decision on credit holidays also requires a law, and no regulation. As you can see, the law in this case is clear. Mr. Speaker, the decision is yours. Take into account the interests of Polish families. Shall we vote? I’m for YES. Please don’t put pressure on Poland
– writes the Prime Minister.
