Bringing the President of the NBP before the State Tribunal, as Donald Tusk is considering, would cause incredible chaos in the functioning of the central bank and would undermine Poland’s confidence and credibility in the international arena in the field of monetary policy. and undermine economic policies. – said PiS MP Krzysztof Szczucki.
On Tuesday, PO leader Donald Tusk said in the Sejm that the opposition had the majority to summon National Bank of Poland President Adam Glapiński to the State Tribunal.

At this point, we have a majority vote sufficient to summon the NBP President to the State Tribunal. We are analyzing this issue because we want to make responsible use of this very serious disciplinary tool to establish political and sometimes criminal liability of politicians and top officials.
– Tusk emphasized.
There are no grounds for such actions
Krzysztof Szczucki, asked by PAP about these announcements, said that “there are no grounds for them in the first place.”
They would have to prove that the NBP president had somehow violated the Constitution, and no such event occurred.
– he noted. Second, he said, “it would cause incredible chaos in the functioning of the central bank and would undermine Poland’s confidence and credibility in the international arena in the field of monetary and economic policy.” According to the PiS parliamentarian, “this would be a very irresponsible action.”
There are institutions whose bodies are filled for a term of office, this is constitutionally guaranteed and you have to wait patiently until the term of office expires. If at some point they have a majority, they can choose their representative. At this point, they must respect the fact that Adam Glapiński is the President of the National Bank of Poland
– said Szczucki.
Tusk’s next proposal is to appoint three investigative committees: next Tuesday, an investigative committee for the so-called envelope elections; and by the end of the year the visa scandal committee and Pegasus.
Referring to these proposals, Szczucki said that “these are games that the Civic Coalition wants to organize for citizens to cover up its incompetence and inability to deal with serious issues that are important to citizens.”
These are matters related to the economy, social policy and simply to their election statements
– emphasized the PiS MP. According to him, “we will instead see the spectacle of commissions of inquiry, an attack on the public media and attempts to overthrow legally operating bodies such as the Constitutional Court or the National Council for the Judiciary.”
This will all happen in the coming months. This is an attempt to distract from what is most important
– he assessed.
Opposition project
When asked about the project submitted to the Sejm by KO on Tuesday, regarding the disclosure of the assets of spouses of representatives of state and local governments, he replied:
We will investigate this project, analyze it and then provide advice.
We are a constructive political formation, not a total one, so we will consider each idea substantively before deciding whether to support or oppose it.
– added.
