As the Council of Ministers, we adopted a resolution on this issue on Tuesday, in which we clearly said “no”; the EU does not agree with this – said today the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Michał Wójcik, referring to Wednesday’s EP vote on amending the EU treaties.
The European Parliament is today debating the report of the European Parliament’s Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO), which recommends changes to the EU treaties. The vote on the report will take place tomorrow.
During the discussion in the Sejm, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery Michał Wójcik emphasized the need for the Sejm to adopt a draft resolution, submitted by the PiS club, regarding “stopping changes to the Treaty on the European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union which are dangerous for the Republic of Poland.”
We as the Council of Ministers have already done our job today, because we adopted a resolution on this issue by saying unequivocally “no”. By not agreeing to this, the European Union is doing what will be voted on tomorrow
– said Wójcik.
