Marcin Horała appeared in the program “Guest News”. The State Secretary noted, among other things: Donald Tusk’s words about the central communications port.
At the beginning of the program, the Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Government Representative for the Central Communications Port, referred to the words of Michał Koboska, who suggested that some ministers of the emerging government of the current opposition were planning to join the European elections.
It is fairly widely said that Donald Tusk himself has such a plan. This isn’t surprising because he’s done this before. But as you can see, this mentality where a lucrative position in Brussels is more important to these people than serving the Republic of Poland, than the obligation to the voters
– said Horała.
He drew attention to the fact that some politicians can only think of the high salaries in Brussels.
If that’s all anyone in politics cares about, I’m not surprised by such an attitude. We may be surprised by those who support such people
– he said.
The importance of CPK
The State Secretary then spoke about the importance of the Central Communications Port and the progress that has been made so far in its realization.
CPK is an investment program that combines several dozen investment projects. (…) Construction has started and preparatory work is already underway. (…) We have acquired minority investors for the airport. These are large global companies
– he said.
When asked about the current opposition’s criticism of the CPK, he replied:
Closing the CPK project will not be that easy. (…) Designed to be difficult to damage. The law must be changed. The President called CPK one of the most important projects for Poland that he will defend. It is included in the trans-European transport network. It is our commitment to our partners in the European Union. (…) Several projects under the CPK have already received funding from the EU. In this case they should be returned. (…) Removing the CPK will result in some of the KPO milestones not being met.
Marcin Horała also explained to Donald Tusk, who argued during the election campaign that he preferred to use Gdańsk Airport instead of CPK, that the Central Communication Port would not be a competition for regional airports. He also drew attention to the issue of competition with German ports.
The question is where Mr. Donald Tusk wants to go. Because this is and remains the best solution for several European destinations. The creation of the CPK does not mean that regional ports will disappear. In the field of intercontinental connections, there will never be such a large market that it would be profitable for the airline to offer services from Gdańsk, for example, because then the plane will not become full. Mr. Donald Tusk has the option to take a taxi to Gdańsk airport, fly from there to Frankfurt and wait for a transfer there. Or you can fly from Gdańsk or take another quick drive to CPK and fly from there to the world. CPK will compete with German intercontinental ports, and to some extent with Vienna and Amsterdam
– he said.
