Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented a number of program proposals to be implemented by the government he formed. The set of proposals was called the “Decalogue of Polish Affairs”. How did opposition politicians react to Morawiecki’s offer?
Czarzasty: We don’t listen and we don’t trust the prime minister
One of the proposals mentioned by the Prime Minister, which are identical to the left-wing program, is the National Housing Program, which focuses on the supply and largest possible construction of apartments, and on eliminating the gender pay gap.
Włodzimierz Czarzasty commented on Morawiecki’s proposal in an interview with PAP. “We don’t listen to him, we don’t trust him and we don’t believe him,” he said.
All he can do is leave immediately
– added.
Mentzen on making taxes complicated
Morawiecki’s proposals included: which coincided with the demands of the Confederation.
From the Confederation’s program, we certainly endorse the postulate in which we too are credible – and not our political opponents who are already withdrawing from their demands – namely increasing the tax-free amount. The Confederacy proposed that the minimum wage would rise and rise with the minimum wage; this is a good postulate
– said the Prime Minister.
We have increased the tax-free amount (i.e. the reward without any income tax) from PLN 3,091 to PLN 30,000. PLN per year; this is a tenfold increase achieved at the same time as a very good budgetary position
– said Morawiecki. The Prime Minister’s proposals also include the so-called voluntary ZUS for entrepreneurs.
The leader of the Confederation responded to the Prime Minister’s proposals with a message on the X website (Twitter).
When Morawiecki loses power, he proposes a voluntary SISTER for entrepreneurs, a long vacancy in tax matters and various other facilities. You had 8 years to do it! At that time, you preferred to increase and complicate taxes at a record pace
– wrote Mentzen.
Sawicki: The offer comes eight years late
The Prime Minister also pointed out that his proposals also include PSL’s demands.
First of all, it’s a SISTER holiday for small businesses that are in a tough spot. This was the element presented by PSL. This postulate is very important, because we tried to provide relief to small and medium-sized businesses in other ways, but voluntary ZUS at least several times a year, or voluntary ZUS at all, is an important postulate. We are absolutely ready to discuss Polish issues within the coalition and implement this demand
– said Morawiecki
Referring to the Prime Minister’s proposal, Sawicki emphasized: “I have the impression that the ‘decalogue’ comes eight years too late and the offer to PSL eight years too late.”
The PSL MP noted that the Prime Minister was not previously willing to enter into a dialogue with the Polish People’s Party. He added that trying to gain a majority in the Sejm is a waste of time of public opinion and other political circles.
In 2020, the president offered a “coalition of Polish affairs.” Somehow Prime Minister Morawiecki did not respond then, he was not willing to enter into a dialogue with PSL and the center of the political scene, because he simply did not feel the need for it.
– said Sawicki.
It is unfortunate that the Prime Minister is troubling public opinion and other political circles, which are currently preparing their projects and projections regarding the government.
– added.
Sawicki emphasized that it is pointless to make demands that Mateusz Morawiecki – as Prime Minister – may not be able to implement.
If I were Prime Minister, I could also submit a wish list and ask the future government why it does not want to carry out this good wishes concert. The problem is that each wish concert has its own director and I don’t think Mr. Morawiecki will be able to stay in this director’s role for long. Why prepare a concert where you are not the director?
– asked the PSL MP.
Kobosko: The Prime Minister appropriated the opposition’s proposals
According to the Vice President of Poland 2050, Morawiecki’s proposal to conclude a cross-party agreement means in turn announcing the end of Law and Justice and replacing it with the Coalition of Polish Affairs.
The Prime Minister’s proposal does not correspond to the November date, but to April Fool’s Day. (…) The Prime Minister suddenly announces the end of Law and Justice, which will be replaced by the enigmatic Coalition of Polish Affairs. However, President Kaczyński should probably be the first to announce the end of PiS
– said Kobosko.
He noted that announcing the opposition’s demands as its own program is an appropriation of ideas submitted during the election campaign.
Prime Minister Morawiecki is openly stealing and trying to appropriate the ideas presented by the democratic opposition during the election campaign, and is now announcing these demands as his +decalogue+. PiS had time to put forward its demands during the campaign, but then Prime Minister Morawiecki preferred to focus on attacking the opposition.
– emphasized the Deputy Head of Poland 2050.
Today, Prime Minister Morawiecki should leave the stage as quickly as possible and remind himself of such an ordinary human decalogue, including the commandment “do not lie.”
– added.
Composition of the new government soon
The Prime Minister announced that, in accordance with the task entrusted to him by President Andrzej Duda, he will present the composition of the new government within seven to eight days.
The voters decided that they wanted to end the Polish-Polish war. We want a government that is above the party, perhaps even outside the party. We want a government that will be a balanced government. That is why we started to create this government from the side that is most appropriate from the point of view of the citizens, from the point of view of Poland – that is, from the side of the program.
– said the Prime Minister.
Since Poles have chosen different parties and very different groupings, we have taken the most valuable elements of these programs from different programs and are building a ‘decalogue of Polish affairs’ – program pillars for the near future, for the next four years . , which can change the lives of Poles very positively, despite the major crises that continue to unfold around us
– said Morawiecki.
The Prime Minister emphasized that these are not ideas for the third term of PiS, but “this is an idea for the first term of the Coalition of Polish Affairs, i.e. the absolutely most important issues – those that interest Poles the most and can at least At the same time the preservation of this great gift of sovereignty for Poland will be guaranteed.” That is independence.
