“For me, it might be even better politically and tactically if Marshal Pęk was voted positively,” Polish MP Michał Kobosko for 2050 said on Radio ZET. The politician also explained his attitude towards Poland’s adoption of the euro and who could become the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Polish 2050 MP Michał Kobosko stated in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio ZET that in his opinion, from the point of view of political tactics, it would be better if Marek Pęk was “voted positively” in the context of his acceptance of the elections. position of Vice President of the Senate. Kobosko said there was the impression that PiS was being criticized in the House’s presidium.
We made sure that in the presidiums of the Sejm and the Senate there was room for representatives of Law and Justice or the so-called United Right and this is the place
– said Michał Kobosko on Radio ZET.
As for specific people nominated by PiS here and here: it is already a decision by parliamentarians on the one hand, and senators on the other.
– added.
The Third Way politician admitted in Radio ZET that he is not familiar with all the arguments behind the rejection of Marek Pęk’s candidacy for the Senate Deputy Chairman and does not know the background of the whole case.
I didn’t get the impression that he was [Marek Pęk – przyp. red.] is specifically the person who should be voted out of this vote. To be honest, I don’t know all the arguments and I don’t participate in the work of the Senate
– said Kobosko.
I think that all parties on our side of the democratic opposition wanted this vote to be uniform, so that we could have one voice on this issue. There were probably arguments that prevailed in favor of this vote, but I don’t know all of them
– added the politician.
Michał Kobosko confessed that in his opinion, thanks to the rejection of Marek Pęk’s candidacy for the Senate Presidium, a “myth” has arisen and that PiS is “making martyrs of itself.”
For me, it might be even better politically and tactically if Marshal Pęk were voted positively, because such an impression is created and PiS immediately takes advantage of it, builds a new myth and makes martyrs of themselves that they are cut down. here. […] They are not left out, there are seats in the presidiums of the Sejm and the Senate and I hope that PiS will nominate new candidates for these seats.
– he emphasized.
Adopt the euro?
Kobosko was also asked by Bogdan Rymanowski whether Poland should adopt the euro.
We said that Poland must resume the process of preparing for the introduction of the euro. I will not say yes, because it will be perceived by listeners as if we want to introduce the euro today or tomorrow. No such possibility exists. Ultimately, we believe that we are the only party – still in opposition – that Poland should move in this direction
– Kobosko explained.
Sikorski, head of diplomacy?
One of our coalition partners will become Minister of Foreign Affairs; if it is MEP Radosław Sikorski, I will congratulate him
– Michał Kobosko, Deputy Head of Poland 2050, unveiled on Radio ZET.
Kobosko was asked in Radio ZET whether he would hold a position at the Ministry of Diplomacy in the government that wants to form the coalition of KO, Third Way and Left. As he noted, one of the coalition partners of his formation will become head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
When asked whether it would be a PO politician, former Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, deputy head of Poland 2050, replied: “If the minister becomes a minister again, I will sincerely congratulate him.”
In the reality that PiS leaves behind, it will be extremely hard work, both within the ministry and outside Poland, when it comes to relations
– he said.
Kobosko was also asked whether Sikorski’s election as head of the Foreign Ministry would mean a “fight” between the ministry and President Andrzej Duda.
I hope there will be no such battle
– he said.
However, he noted that the so-called Powers Act, which he said was intended to hinder the functioning of government at EU level. We are talking about the law on cooperation between authorities regarding the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, which will take place in the first half of 2025. The law presupposes the obligation of the government to cooperate with the President and with the Sejm and the Senate. in the field of Polish membership of the EU.
Kobosko expressed the hope that cooperation with the president in international affairs would nevertheless proceed fairly smoothly. He emphasized that Poland cannot afford internal fighting in international relations.
No responsible politician – and I include President Duda, Minister Sikorski and many other politicians who will form our future coalition – will get involved in this, because it would not be profitable for Poland.
– he said.
The leaders of PO, Polski 2050, PSL and Nieuw Links signed a coalition agreement on November 10.
