“Put yourself in my situation. Around August 12 and 14, almost every day total nonsense was written about me, about something called the visa scandal that had no connection with the facts,” said Piotr Wawrzyk, former deputy foreign minister and PiS MP, on Radio Zet. .
The politician was dismissed after the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau revealed irregularities in the issuance of 268 visas. The MP was removed from the PiS lists in the parliamentary elections.
The only criminal activities taking place in this case are activities outside the ministry. As far as I know, no illegal activities have taken place at the head office or in the branches
– explained Piotr Wawrzyk.
I was dismissed in such a way that when I was here at home, and not in the office, I received a signal that the gentlemen from the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau were waiting and, as I told you at the beginning, when I went to the office, they presented a document from the prosecutor stating that they have to take my phone away. Of course, without any hesitation, I immediately handed over the phone. I will say more, knowing that they were in the office, if I had the chance I could have manipulated everything on the phone, but it didn’t even occur to me
– explained Piotr Wawrzyk.
Visa stalls
The former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also referred to the so-called visa scandal and the famous “visa stalls in Africa”.
There was a lot of talk about alleged visa stalls. There is no such thing, such a technical possibility does not exist, because a visa is a document that is obtained in Warsaw and goes to the appropriate consulate, where it is transferred to the right person.
– he said.
In order to obtain a visa you must meet certain conditions – this flows from EU law, it is not our law, it flows from the Schengen Code. For example, you need to have proof that you are a wealthy person, meaning that you have, for example, I don’t know, 100,000. dollars in the bank. And these types of documents for specific persons could be purchased from these stalls in Nigeria
– he explained.
The second, for example, is that someone has a job and simply has a high income. Such a document must also be submitted together with the visa application. Why? These are the type of documents that allow the consul to conclude that the person’s situation is so good that there is no so-called migration risk, as we mentioned earlier.
– he justified.
