In southern Ukraine, power lines and two wind farms were temporarily shut down after damage was detected, cutting electricity to more than 400 settlements. The information came from the country’s Ministry of Energy via Telegram, where officials described the incident as a disruption that affected critical infrastructure across the region.

The authority noted that a power line was severed in the southern part of the country. The statement also indicated that two wind power plants were taken offline as a precaution while repairs were planned and safety checks conducted.

Officials from the energy department reported that electricity service has since resumed to normal operations in the affected areas, as crews worked to repair damage and restore reliability across the grid.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, more than 1,300 residents in the Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions lost power temporarily. Additional outages were observed among residents in Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, where electricity was unavailable for periods during the incident window.

Data provided by the national energy company Ukrenergo indicates that 419 settlements were without power at the height of the disruption. Restoration efforts continued as the company coordinated with regional grid operators to balance demand and ensure safety during reconnection.

Earlier updates from the Ministry of Energy noted damage to gas distribution network equipment in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with officials assessing the scope of repairs needed to maintain gas supply reliability in parallel with electric service restoration.

Earlier reports also described damage to gas infrastructure in two separate regions, underscoring the broader impact on energy services and the importance of rapid assessment, repair, and safety protocols to prevent further outages. Ukraine’s energy agencies emphasized ongoing monitoring and coordinated action to restore full service for all communities and to safeguard critical infrastructure against future incidents.
